\u00ab On ne se lasse pas de le regarder, de l\u2019admirer et plus on le regarde, plus on l\u2019aime \u00bb <\/em>tels sont les mots utilisaient par Bernard Millant pour d\u00e9crire le “Faisan dor\u00e9”, ce superbe violon de Jean-Baptiste VUILLAUME fait \u00e0 Paris en 1862. Cet instrument, qui fait partie de la s\u00e9rie intitul\u00e9e “Les oiseaux”, tire son nom de son vernis orang\u00e9 sur fond dor\u00e9.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ses exceptionnelles qualit\u00e9s n’avaient d’ailleurs pas \u00e9chapp\u00e9 au violoniste Pierre Amoyal, \u00e0 qui Bernard Millant pr\u00eata le “Faisan dor\u00e9” suite au vol de son Stradivarius. Ce violon \u00e0 l’histoire et \u00e0 la renomm\u00e9e unique a s\u00e9duit les acheteurs venus en nombre \u00e0 Vichy pour l’admirer. La succession des mains lev\u00e9es ont fait monter les ench\u00e8res jusqu’\u00e0 230 000 \u20ac prix marteau, soit 285 200 \u20ac avec les frais. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The wonderful collection of string instruments and bows built with passion by Bernard Millant over a period of more than fifty years is now being sold, in accordance with his last wishes. “Such is the life of works of art: they go from hand to hand, from home to home, from the concert hall on one continent to another\u2026” explains Catherine Millant. Of the 108 lots in the 5 December 2018 auction which sold, 19 broke world records. Vichy Ench\u00e8res once again distinguished itself by the quality of the instruments on offer and by its auction records, making it a key player on the international music scene.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“We never tire of looking at it, of admiring it, and the more we look at it, the more we love it”. These are the words of Bernard Millant, used to describe the “Golden Pheasant”, this superb violin by Jean-Baptiste VUILLAUME made in Paris in 1862. This instrument, which is part of the series entitled “The birds”, takes its name from its orange varnish over a golden ground.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bernard Millant lent the \u201cGolden Pheasant\u201d to Pierre Amoyal, following the theft of his Stradivarius, and he became aware of its exceptional qualities. This violin, with its unique history and reputation, attracted a large number of potential buyers who came to Vichy to admire it. The many raised hands at the auction led to a hammer price of \u20ac230,000, or \u20ac285,200 with fees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
