Lorsque l\u2019on \u00e9voque la ville de Florence, on pense bien g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 ses peintres magnifiques qui tout au long du 17\u00e8me<\/sup> et du 18\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle ont rayonn\u00e9 sur toute l\u2019Europe. En revanche, on connait moins bien les luthiers Florentins. Ils sont pourtant assez nombreux \u00e0 avoir profess\u00e9 depuis le milieu du 17\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle et tout au long du 18\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. GABBRIELLI v\u00e9cut \u00e0 Florence au XVIII\u00e8me<\/sup>  si\u00e8cle. Ses instruments sont inspir\u00e9s de l\u2019\u00e9cole allemande et plus particuli\u00e8rement de Jacobus STAINER notamment dans le dessin et la d\u00e9coupe des ou\u00efes. Ils poss\u00e8dent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des voutes assez d\u00e9gag\u00e9es voire un peu hautes pour certains et un tr\u00e8s joli vernis jaune d\u2019or (que l\u2019on retrouve \u00e9galement chez certains auteurs de l\u2019\u00e9cole fran\u00e7aise \u00e0 la m\u00eame \u00e9poque) de tr\u00e8s belle qualit\u00e9 quoiqu\u2019un peu plus sec que la plupart des vernis italiens de cette \u00e9poque.
Vichy Ench\u00e8res, pour sa grande vente d\u2019instruments du mois de d\u00e9cembre, a le grand plaisir de vous pr\u00e9senter un magnifique violon de Giovanni Battista GABBRIELLI dans un \u00e9tat de conservation tout \u00e0 fait exceptionnel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fait \u00e0 Florence au mill\u00e9sime de 1769, ce tr\u00e8s beau violon a encore son manche d\u2019origine mont\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 la mani\u00e8re baroque\u00a0\u00bb c’est-\u00e0-dire non-enclav\u00e9 mais clou\u00e9 au tasseau int\u00e9rieur. On peut d\u2019ailleurs apercevoir le clou utilis\u00e9 \u00e0 cet effet. On retrouve les trois marques au fer \u00ab\u00a0GBG\u00a0\u00bb caract\u00e9ristiques sur le fond au niveau du talon du manche, sur la table et sur les \u00e9clisses au niveau du bouton.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fait tout \u00e0 fait remarquable, l\u2019instrument a conserv\u00e9 3 chevilles originales certainement \u00ab\u00a0tourn\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb par GABBRIELLI\u00a0lui-m\u00eame.
Ce violon ne comporte aucune cassure sur la table, ni sur le fond. Il est estim\u00e9 entre\u00a030 000 et 35 000 \u20ac.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Florence is often associated with its magnificent painters who, throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, shone all over Europe. However, much less is known of the Florentine violin makers, and yet there were many of them who were active from the middle of the 17th century through the end of 18th century. GABBRIELLI lived in Florence in the 18th century. His instruments are inspired by the German school and more specifically by Jacob STAINER, in particular in their design and the cutting of the f-holes. They usually feature pronounced arches, a little high for some, and a very attractive golden yellow varnish (which can also be found with certain makers of the French school around the same period) of very good quality, although a little drier than most Italian varnishes of that time.
In its fine sale of musical instruments in December, Vichy Ench\u00e8res is proud to present a magnificent violin by Giovanni Battista GABBRIELLI in an exceptional state of preservation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Made in Florence in 1769, this beautiful violin still has its original neck, mounted in the “baroque style”, in other words not jointed but instead nailed to the top block. The nail used for that purpose is visible on the instrument.
The three typical “GBG” brands can be found on the back towards the neck heel, on the front and on the ribs at the button.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Another remarkable fact is that the instrument has retained three of its original pegs, which were most likely turned by GABBRIELLI himself.
This violin has no cracks on either the front or back.
It has an estimate of \u20ac30,000-35,000.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
