luthiers de la dynastie Ramirez furent tr\u00e8s renomm\u00e9s durant plus d\u2019un si\u00e8cle, de Jos\u00e9 Ramirez I (1858-1923) \u00e0 Jos\u00e9 Ramirez III (1922-1995).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cGr\u00e2ce au succ\u00e8s incontestable de ses guitares, cette maison se trouve tr\u00e8s vite confront\u00e9e \u00e0 \u00e9tablit le premier atelier de la famille \u00e0 Madrid et forma un grand nombre de luthiers majeurs, tels que Enrique Garcia et Julian Gomez, mais \u00e9galement son fr\u00e8re Manuel Ramirez class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Apr\u00e8s sa formation dans l\u2019atelier de son p\u00e8re, Jos\u00e9 Sim\u00f3n Ram\u00edrez de Galarreta y Pernias (dit Jos\u00e9 II, 1885 &#8211; 1957) partit tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t en Am\u00e9rique du Sud pour une tourn\u00e9e en tant que guitariste. Celle-ci se tranforma en vingt ann\u00e9es de travail en tant que musicien et luthier \u00e0 Buenos Aires. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019en 1923 qu\u2019il regagna Madrid, ayant appris le d\u00e9c\u00e8s de son p\u00e8re et afin de reprendre l\u2019atelier familial. Il ne revint pas seul en Espagne, mais accompagn\u00e9 de son \u00e9pouse et de ses deux enfants, Jos\u00e9 Ramirez III et Alfredo Ramirez. \u00c0 sa propre mort en 1957, c\u2019est son fils Jos\u00e9 III qui reprit l\u2019atelier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Ramirez II travailla ainsi dans l\u2019atelier de la <em>Calle Concepci\u00f3n Jer\u00f3nima<\/em>, assist\u00e9 par les luthiers Jesus Martinez, Alfonso Benito et Antonio G\u00f3mez. Ses instruments \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s reconnus et il obtint notamment une m\u00e9daille d\u2019or \u00e0 l\u2019Exposition ib\u00e9ro-am\u00e9ricaine qui se tint \u00e0 S\u00e9ville du 9 mai 1929 au 21 juin 1930. Son activit\u00e9 fut cependant ralentie par la guerre civile espagnole \u00e0 partir de 1936 et il ne parvint plus \u00e0 s\u2019approvisionner en mat\u00e9riaux \u00e0 cause des p\u00e9nuries, si bien que les commandes chut\u00e8rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La guitare de Jos\u00e9 Ramirez de la vente du 5 novembre 2022 a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019apog\u00e9e de sa carri\u00e8re, en 1933. De belle facture, elle pr\u00e9sente les ornements stylistiques caract\u00e9ristiques du ma\u00eetre, que ce soit dans les motifs de sa rosace, le choix des filets ou le beau travail du fond en Le prince \u2013 lieutenant dans l\u2019arm\u00e9e du tsar Nicolas II \u2013 avait fui la Russie lors de la r\u00e9volution de 1917 et le massacre de la famille imp\u00e9riale par les Bolcheviks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est \u00e0 Paris qu\u2019il rencontre Madame Louise-Anne Morlaut, qui semble avoir appartenu \u00e0 un club fran\u00e7ais de guitaristes. class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>After training in his father&#8217;s workshop, Jos\u00e9 Sim\u00f3n Ram\u00edrez de Galarreta y Pernias (known as Jos\u00e9 II, 1885 \u2013 1957) left for South America to tour as a guitarist. A few months turned into a twenty year career as a musician and maker in Buenos Aires. It was not until 1923 that he returned to Madrid, in order to take over the family workshop after having learned of the death of his father. He returned to Spain with his wife and two children, Jos\u00e9 Ramirez III and Alfredo Ramirez. When he died in 1957, his son Jos\u00e9 III took over the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Ramirez II therefore worked in the workshop on <em>Calle Concepci\u00f3n Jer\u00f3nima<\/em>, assisted by Jesus Martinez, Alfonso Benito and Antonio G\u00f3mez. His instruments gained high recognition and, in particular, he won a gold medal at the Ibero-American Exhibition held in Seville from 9 May 1929 to 21 June 1930. However, his activity slowed down as a result of the Spanish Civil War from 1936, as he could no longer source materials due to shortages, and orders dropped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guitar by Jos\u00e9 Ramirez in the 5 November 2022 sale was made in 1933, when he was at the height of his career. It is beautifully crafted and features the master&#8217;s characteristic ornamentation, whether in the decoration of its rosette, the choice of purfling or the beautiful working of the rosewood The prince \u2013 a lieutenant in the army of Tsar Nicholas II \u2013 had fled Russia during the 1917 revolution and the massacre of the imperial family by the Bolsheviks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was in Paris that he met Madame Louise-Anne Morlaut, who seemed to have belonged to a French guitar club. Therefore, it is likely that Prince Toporkoff bought these Spanish guitars for private use by his wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The princess, who was very pious, bequeathed upon her death all her property,
