Jusque-l\u00e0, l\u2019ampli phare de Watkins \u00e9tait le Dominator et utilisait une paire d&#8217;EL84 pour g\u00e9n\u00e9rer environ 17 watts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Avec l\u2019invention du Joker, Watkins r\u00e9volutionnait le monde de la musique en proposant un ampli d\u2019une puissance de 30 watts. Son innovation et sa cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 ont inspir\u00e9 de nombreux musiciens et ses amplis ont donn\u00e9 sa couleur musicale \u00e0 la sc\u00e8ne rock et blues des ann\u00e9es 60. Ces mythiques amplis ont \u00e9t\u00e9 jou\u00e9s par les plus grands guitaristes de l\u2019\u00e9poque, tels qu\u2019Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) ou Keith Richards (Rolling Stones).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un objet de collection<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Charlie Watkins lui-m\u00eame a qualifi\u00e9 le Joker de &#8220;projet le plus compliqu\u00e9 qu\u2019il a manufactur\u00e9&#8221;, et en tout 400 exemplaires seulement auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 construits entre 1960 et 1963. Une perle rare donc pour tout collectionneur ou amateur d\u2019amplification vintage. L\u2019ampli en vente le 6 mai 2023 \u00e0 Vichy Ench\u00e8res a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en 1963 et porte le n\u00b0031063. Il est \u00e9quip\u00e9 d&#8217;un tr\u00e9molo, d&#8217;une reverbe et d\u2019un tape echo \u00e0 bande. Il a appartenu \u00e0 un jeune musicien des ann\u00e9es 60, Georges Dupuy, qui l\u2019acheta au magasin Symphonie de Saint-Etienne en 1963 avec une guitare Stevens. It is this legendary amp that shaped the sound of the British music scene of the 60s and 70s. Until then, Watkins&#8217;s flagship amp was the Dominator, which used a pair of EL84s to generate around 17 watts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>With the Joker, Watkins revolutionized the world of music by creating an amp with a power of 30 watts. This gave it several interesting and useful features for musicians of the day, including three instrument channels with individual gain and tone controls, master volume control, tremolo circuit, spring reverb and tape echo (the same circuit that would subsequently feature in many recording studios around the world in the form of the WEM Copycat delay). His innovations and creativity inspired many musicians, and his amps gave the rock and blues scene of the 1960s its sound. These legendary amps were used by the greatest guitarists of the time, including Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) and Keith Richards (Rolling Stones).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A collector&#8217;s item<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Charlie Watkins considered the Joker &#8220;the most complicated project [he] ever manufactured&#8221;, and, in total, only 400 of them were produced between 1960 and 1963. It is a rare gem for any vintage amp collector or enthusiast. The amplifier on sale on 6 May 2023 at Vichy Ench\u00e8res was made in 1963 and bears the number 031063. It is equipped with a tremolo, a reverb and a band tape echo. It belonged to a young musician of the 60s, Georges Dupuy, who bought it at the \u201cSymphonie\u201d store in Saint-Etienne in 1963, along with a Stevens guitar.
