Nous avions enfin, lors de cette vacation, le plaisir de vous pr\u00e9senter un piano. L’instrument fut pendant de nombreuses ann\u00e9es la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre violoniste belge Arthur GRUMIAUX (1921-1986). Nous avions, lors de cette vacation d’instruments du quatuor, le plaisir de vous pr\u00e9senter un piano. Une erreur de casting ? Il n’en est rien ! Car nous ne parlons pas ici de n’importe quel piano : l’instrument fut pendant de nombreuses ann\u00e9es la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 du violoniste belge Arthur GRUMIAUX (1921-1986). Au cours de sa vie, cet artiste que l\u2019on dirait volontiers touch\u00e9 par la gr\u00e2ce, manifesta un v\u00e9ritable don pour le violon dont il devint l\u2019un des plus grands interpr\u00e8tes de sa g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Il montra \u00e9galement, dans le m\u00eame temps, des aptitudes certaines pour le piano.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A la mort du violoniste en 1986, ce demi-queue STEINWAY laqu\u00e9 noir fut mis au service d\u2019une belle cause : fondation Arthur GRUMIAUX<\/a>, bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Gand en Belgique. Fond\u00e9e par Amanda GRUMIAUX, l\u2019\u00e9pouse du musicien, l\u2019association \u0153uvre depuis plus de vingt ans en faveur de l\u2019acc\u00e8s au plus grand nombre \u00e0 la pratique musicale. Trop encombrant et difficilement d\u00e9pla\u00e7able, le piano a toutefois d\u00fb quitter la fondation. Il vient aujourd’hui de trouver acqu\u00e9reur pour 31 000 \u20ac.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A must for luthiers, bow makers and musicians from all over the world, this 35th<\/sup> year of the Vichy Quartet’s instrument sales was marked by the auction of the extremely rare cello by Giovanni Battista GUADAGNINI (confidential price). As for the bows, we note the fine result of the violin bow by Dominique PECCATTE sold for \u20ac71,920 including costs. Finally, we had the pleasure of presenting a piano at this auction. The instrument was owned for many years by the famous Belgian violinist Arthur GRUMIAUX (1921-1986). This Steinway and Son went for \u20ac31,000.
